This past friday july 2nd, our dear friends from Blaq Records, put together the first Soundcloud meetup here in Mexico city , this was the first meetup in Mexico city put together by a label, this meetup brought together many different artists from different parts of the independent music scene, both new producers as well as stablished ones, came together with some of the most important independent labels in the city like Blaq Records, Pantamuzik, Senses netlabel, Infradigrecords, Sounds of earth, some of the most stablished artists that showed up at this meetup were Razz, Rubinskee, PRRM, Signal Deluxe, Soundspace, Itzone, Tnao, Montiel and more.
There were all kinds of different producers that came together representing the many different genres within electronic music, like drum and bass, techno, house, downtempo, experimental, rock and even some acoustic producersthis was a very interesting meeting with many different projects coming together and converging in one real spot, trying to turn the virtual world into a much more human place where physical contact is essential, we had Soundspace stream this meetup through his new blog / label “Spoiled child”, so you can check it online to hear some of the diverse opinions that were generated through this meetup we truly believe this is a very special way and a good opportunity for artists and independent labels to come together and exchange ideas and music for future projects and promote the good collaborations between musicians with similar ideas and sharing similar points of view within the underground music scene.
Soundcloud is without a doubt one of the most interesting and used applications / platforms within the independent music community, one of the nicest and most simple yet effective sources to promote and share your music both private and public, this first meetup hosted by Blaq Records is aimed to bring together all soundcloud users in the Mexico City area, for an evening of sharing, networking and exchanging music, ideas and projects.
This will be the beginning of a series of meetups where we will be able to build a community around Soundcloud for future projects and to expand the underground vibes around this beautiful city filled with talented producers.
The next saturday may 21st Monopolar and Razz will be playing in the closing party for Marvin’s
magazine 10 year anniversary, they will be warming up the dancefloor for 2
amazing artists from the electronic scene, Lopazz and Felipe Venegas.
So if you happen to be in Mexico city make sure you stop by and have a dance,
this will be a great festival and the closing party promises to be a very
special event!
Last weekend, Monopolar and Razz from Pantamuzik had the great joy of
playing in the event “Acuerdate de Acapulco”, this event was put together
by the government of state of Guerrero (Mexico), in an event that brought
together different artists from many different genres which made this a
unique event where different expressions from good friends and the
Pantamuzik boys where highly aprpeciated by old and young….
