Today is the day! We are celebrating the release of “KURDUCA EP” by Miguel Toro. Available on Beatport, iTunes Store, Juno Download, Trackitdown, Nu Loop and many more digital stores
“Orkestar” is an eclectic track that builds up on simple elements and reaches to a dramatic climax. Rooted on a rock solid drum and hihat pattern, a variety of little percussive parafernalia, played live, colors the track and leads us to dance heaven. A simple structure acts as a canvas for electronic, noisy melodic elements and a voice sample adds the right amount of intensity. “Kurduca” is also a showcase for Toro’s mastery of percussive hooks. Innovative and deeply latin on its hihat work, a steady , barely melodic line runs over the whole track with great dancefloor effect. There are plenty of details such as hushed voices, spoken samples and glitchy undertones that result on a sophisticated, highly danceable contemporary track.

Miguel Toro ‘Kurduca’
(Pantamuzik)
Another corker from Mexico’s Pantamuzik indeed carries some weight in its turbo-boxers as Venezuelan-born/Berlin residing Miguel lets fly with a thunderously minimal bassy roller topped with disembodied vocals and boasting some fine examples of his deadly way with drum programming. Meanwhile, ‘Orkestar’ embarks on a booming, 90s New York-style tribal walloper with techno sensibilities leaning in and intricate sc-fi efx. Love the ‘yeah yeah yeah’ from Red Alert’s radio jingles.

The next August 24 will launch the new EP by Miguel Toro “Kurduca”. These are some of the reactions of the dj’s, clubs and radio stations.
ANDRO
THE WAREHOUSE PROJECT / NAIVE MELODY
Both tracks on the EP had strong grooves, but ‘Kurduca’ stood out more. The raw percussive elements will sound ace on a soundsystem. It’s got the Luciano swing! Will play it out over the next few weeks and let you know crowd reaction.
CHRIS FINKE
ATOMIC JAM / FLUX / THE DROP RADIO SHOW
Both of there are wicked – great production and very playable. Big room tunes!!
DJ 3000
UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE / MOTECH
Nice surprise to hear someone with an original sound. I like the percussion and overall sound in ‘Kurduca’ – its funky!
WILL KINSELLA
CEOLTRONIC RADIO / CEOL EIRE – RTE PULSE (DIGITAL)
Thanks for this one – will play on the show tonight (31/7/09)
JAY HAZE
I love all the riddims on this one, love the syncopated patterns and general vibes. His music is getting better with each and every release. I’m really looking forward to hear more music from the label and the artist! Will be playing for sure.
NICO DE CEGLIA
CODEX / BBC RADIO 1
2 nice tracks from Toro. I’ll surely drop both of them in my sets. (4 out of 5)
