Miguel Toro

Miguel Toro started his musical education at a very early age playing percussion and drumset in school bands in the 70′s and 80′s.

After school he studied in the TALLER DE ARTE SONORO (Caracas, Venezuela) and later in the DRUMMERS COLLECTIVE (NY, USA).

The music of Caracas in the 80′s where his main influences, although half of this decade, he lived with his mother in Brighton (UK), were he was exposed to the underground musical vanguard of London.  The musical roots of  EDDIE PALMIERY, CACHAO, DIMENSION LATINA, MIGUEL ANGEL NOYA (Electronic Musician and his first music teacher), were mixed with
SOUXI AND THE BANSHEES, LOVE AND ROCKETS, TONES ON TAIL, BAUHAUS,etc, expanding his musical vision at a young age.

In the 90′s in Caracas he played with diferent groups of the capital and studied musical theory with  MIGUEL ANGEL NOYA (DOGON).
Founded, recorded and toured with LA CALLE  and PAN, editing records in the labels OJO RABIOSO and LOS INSOLITOS respectively, becomming an important local reference to the venezuelan and latinamerican musical heritage of that decade.

The second half of the 90′s, works for SONY MUSIC INTERNATIONAL as Label Manager of  SONY MUSIC, EPIC, COLUMBIA, LEGACY, RCA, SKINT, etc, until the year 2000 when he moves to New York to study at the prestigious DRUMMERS COLLECTIVE.

Manhattan would become the bridge to Europe, specifically Berlin, Germany, where he currently lives dedicated to making music with artists like SAMIM, ARGENIS BRITO, NARKOTIC SYNTAX, CHICO TRUJILLO, etc. and playing in the vast world of Berlin club scene  playing his live set in PANORAMA BAR, WATERGATE, BAR 25, MARIA, the rest of Europe, Africa and Asia.
From Berlin, he releases his own material on labels like MOoNHARBOUR (Germany), MOTIVBANK (Germany), CADENZA (Switzerland) and PANTAMUZIK (Mexico).

In his own productions we can listen to all the genres learned through the years of living with and for the music, the heavy rithmical and percussion driven tracks, are influenced by the masters of dance music (Latinamerica and beyond) and expanding the frontiers of genre and style mixture in an eclectic meltingpot directed to the RUMBEROS of the world.
